Bill Clark Homes Wins Duke Energy Progress Award

Buying a new, award-winning Bill Clark Home will SAVE homeowners money. How, you ask?

With just a flip of the switch…

Bill Clark Homes of Wilmington has been awarded the prestigious “Best Builder” Duke Energy Award for the Coastal Region.  By partnering with Duke Energy Progress, Bill Clark Homes has committed to following a strict code of energy-efficient homebuilding standards and practices.  These standards are paying off in a BIG WAY when homeowners receive their monthly electricity bills.

Homeowners that build a program-eligible home save, on average, 5,000kWh each year.  Over a 30-year period, this savings equals nearly $16,000 subtracted from utility bills.  And, when added up across the board, Bill Clark Homes’ homeowners are pocketing $1.1 million in electrical savings.

Switch flipped.

Each Bill Clark home is independently tested and scored on the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index, which is a scale for how home energy is measured and communicated. The lower the HERS score, the lower the expected energy usage.

A home with a HERS Index score of 70 is 30% more energy efficient than the RESNET Reference Home which is rated at 100.  A standard new home built in North Carolina and South Carolina receives a score of 85.  Based on energy performance on average, Bill Clark Homes receives a score of 56 on each new home.

“We’re committed to building energy-efficient homes,” said Heath Clark, General Manager of Bill Clark Homes of Wilmington. “With the standards and practices our company has implemented over the years, we are able to truly demonstrate the efficiency of each home to our homeowners.”

Why does Bill Clark Homes receive such an impressive rating?  It’s all about the energy-efficient materials used.  Materials such as radiant barrier roofing, top-rated insulation, Energy Star rated kitchen appliances, Low-E high-performance vinyl windows, weather-resistant house wrap, low consumption faucets and toilets, high-efficiency HVAC systems and MUCH more.

In Other News
It has been a big year for the regional, awarding-winning homebuilder.  The company is celebrating 40 years in the industry.

In April, Hanover Lakes made its debut; a 230-home flagship community located off Castle Hayne Road.  The neighborhood offers a convenient location – minutes from historic downtown, Wilmington International Airport, Mayfaire Town Center, GE, NHRMC and UNCW.

“Since the beginning of the year, we have welcomed 22 new families to Hanover Lakes,” commented Robin Campbell, Director of Sales and Marketing for Bill Clark Homes’ Wilmington division.  “The neighborhood is continuing to soar – our pool is officially open and we are 6 homes away from selling out of our first phase estate homesites.”

At Kaylie’s Cove, a prime location couples with an affordable price tag to offer the perfect address for Wilmington’s growing families. Conveniently located on Piner Road, adjacent to Myrtle Grove Middle School in the popular Monkey Junction area, this new 79-home community, with prices starting at $259,900, is minutes from the area’s top shops, restaurants, entertainment and most importantly…the beach!

“We’re thrilled to announce 3 new families have already joined the Kaylie’s Cove neighborhood,” commented Robin.  “Folks are excited about coastal look-and-feel of the exteriors, mixed with open floorplans, large master suites, spacious and functional kitchens and other special details for growing families.  We look forward to celebrating the Grand Opening this fall.”

More Progress…
River Oaks Homestead Estates off River Road is celebrating the release of a brand-new phase of wooded homesites sized at ½ an acre, an unusually large size for the convenient Wilmington location.  Spacious front and rear porches, historic-inspired gas lanterns and detailed craftsmanship provide the character expected in older homes but with all the advantages of new home construction.  The neighborhood pool is officially open to residents!

The Landing at Mill Creek in the heart of Sneads Ferry is preparing for a Grand Opening Celebration on August 19th.  With homes priced from the $190s and a prime location near Camp Lejeune and a mile from the beaches of North Topsail, residents will enjoy the laid back coastal lifestyle and easy commute to either Wilmington or Jacksonville.

The new homes in these communities will join thousands of homes across the Carolinas and in the Wilmington area.  Homeowners fill popular neighborhoods like Sunset Ridge, The Retreat at Ocean Isle Beach, Belle Meade and many more.  Watch for additional communities released later this year and into 2018 as well.  Bill Clark is excited to continue building family traditions for years to come.
